YARON FINKELSTEIN

Dr. Finkelstein is a Professor of Pediatrics, Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Toronto, and a Senior Clinician-Scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children. His research focuses on optimizing therapeutics in acutely sick and injured children, and prevention of drug overdose and suicide, employing epidemiological, clinical trials and precision tools. Dr. Finkelstein holds the Canada Research Chair in Pediatric Drug Safety and Efficacy (Tier I). He is triple trained in pediatric emergency medicine, medical toxicology, and clinical pharmacology. He served as a Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School, Boston (2008-2010). Since 2016, he serves as a “Thought Leader” for NIH’s Pediatric Trials Network, an alliance of >200 pediatric hosp itals globally, studying and working on drug label modifications for children. In 2017 Dr. Finkelstein established the ACMT 47-site ToxIC Pediatric Marijuana & Opioids prospective sub-registries. He published ~200 peer-reviewed articles, holds national and international leadership roles, and his research was funded by NIH, CDC, CIHR, and Harvard Catalyst.
