Dr. Deborah Hsu is Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she serves as Vice Chair and Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). With close to three decades of experience as a PEM physician, she has dedicated her career to advancing emergency care for children through clinical practice, research, and education, with a particular focus on competency-based medical education. Dr. Hsu has extensive expertise in clinical operations, conducting needs assessment, curriculum development, and designing assessment tools that promote continuous professional growth for trainees and practicing physicians while meeting accreditation requirements. Her work has been conducted in collaboration with various leaders across healthcare systems and educators in pediatrics and emergency medicine. In her many national and institutional leadership roles, she has mentored, sponsored, and supported numerous physicians and clinicians in the development of their careers and in their efforts to advance child health.
