Alexandre Rotta, MD, FCCM, is a Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, where he serves as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Executive Co-Director of the Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at Duke University Medical Center/Duke Children’s Hospital. A Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and former Chair of the Pediatric Section of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), Dr. Rotta is the Senior Co-Editor of the current edition of Fuhrman and Zimmerman Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He has published extensively in pediatric critical care, with academic interests spanning acute respiratory failure, advanced respiratory support modalities, cardiac intensive care, bronchiolitis, critical asthma, and medical emergencies in commercial aviation.
