Dear attendee,
I am proud to announce that Brazil will host the 1st World Congress of Pediatric Urgencies and Emergencies.
It will be a hybrid event, online and in-person, with three official languages and simultaneous translation: Portuguese, English and Spanish.
The event is a joint event between the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP) and the São Paulo Society of Pediatrics (SPSP) and its scientific organization includes, in addition to these two societies, the participation of the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Emergencias Pediátricas (SLEPE) and Sociedad Española de Urgencias de Pediatria (SEUP).
It is interesting to follow the evolution of this event, which began as the 1st São Paulo Congress of Pediatric Urgency and Emergencies in 2012 and increased in size and importance, evolving into a Brazilian one in 2015 and a Latin American one in 2018 and 2023.
In this 5th edition it reached the magnitude of a global event. A pioneering congress that showcases the entrepreneurship of Brazilian pediatric societies.
The event is supported by 33 international medical societies and research networks, including: American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and 28 others across all continents.
We also had 43 international speakers from all over the planet, showing the global reach of the event.
The activities are varied, distributed in 4 simultaneous exhibition rooms, with the aim of ensuring interaction between the audience and speakers. No one will miss any activities, as they will be available to delegates for 3 months on the event website.
There will be an unprecedented award for the best works submitted, such as an observer internship in the Emergency Department of the Children’s National Hospital in Washington-DC and publication in the Revista Emergencias Pediátricas.
It is a general pediatrics congress focused on academic discussion of the care of exacerbations and serious manifestations of diseases in children.
An event designed and taught by pediatric emergency doctors, not only for pediatricians who work in emergency services, but for everyone who cares for children with serious manifestations of general illnesses in outpatient clinics, wards and intensive care.
In addition to clinical topics, topics such as quality, safety, management, teaching, physician well-being, among others, will be covered.
I believe it is a unique opportunity for mutual learning and exchange of experiences that will enrich everyone from a professional and personal point of view, and which will culminate in better and more organized care for seriously ill children.
That is our main objective.
