DAVID SCHNADOWER

Dr. Schnadower is the director of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine. Originally from Mexico, he trained at NYU and Columbia University in New York. His career has been shaped and guided by three main drivers: the fight against injustice, moving medicine forward through collaborative research, and mentoring the next generation of physicians. Dr. Schnadower worked with Doctors without Borders and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Latin America, Asia and Africa. He also served as PEM fellowship director and research director at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. Dr. Schnadower led the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee (PEMCRC) of the AAP for six years and is an active member of the PECARN research network. He has published extensively in high impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and Pediatrics, with special interests involving the diagnosis and management of children with infectious diseases presenting to the emergency department and anaphylaxis. He has received multiple national awards and NIH grants to further his work. He is also an associate editor of the upcoming edition of the Fleischer and Ludwig Textbook on Emergency Medicine.
