Selin Tuysuzoglu Sagalowsky, M.D., M.P.H., is the Vice Chair for Education, Scholarship, and Academic Development for the Department of Emergency Medicine. She has held leadership roles in the ACGME’s subspecialty Milestones 2. and AAMC’s Core Entrustable Professional Activities Pilot Programs and is a graduate of the AAMC’s Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) Program. Prior to joining NYU, Dr. Sagalowsky served as Director of Pediatric Emergency Medical Student Education at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons. She then came to NYU as Program Director of the PEM Fellowship, a position she held for five years before transitioning exclusively into the Vice Chair role. She is a graduate and former Chief Resident of the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics and holds an M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an M.P.H. from Harvard University, where she also completed undergraduate studies in creative writing. Her medical interests include curriculum development with a focus on patient-centered and simulation-based methods, learner assessment, and physician wellness/burnout prevention.
