Dr Simon Chu completed his specialist training in emergency medicine in Sydney, Australia in 2003, and his specialist paediatric emergency medicine (PEM) training in London, Ontario, Canada, in 2006. He also completed his Masters in Medical Education in 2010. Simon has had a long relationship with the education arm of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine including two projects revising the ACEM curriculum and training program for specialist emergency medicine in 2012 and 2020. However, his first love is PEM and his interests now are in creating dialogues with colleagues to determine what different models of care could be started to provide better paediatric emergency care both in Australia, and also globally through his role in the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys wine tasting events with friends, searching for the next gourmet meal, and performs as principal cellist in community symphony orchestras.
