Prof dr Patrick Van de Voorde is associate professor in emergency medicine at Ghent University. Being also trained as board-certified paediatrician and intensivist, he previously functioned as paediatric intensivist in the same Ghent University Hospital. Prof Van de Voorde has been invited faculty to many international congresses and has published extensively on (pediatric) resuscitation and emergency medicine. He is the current chair of the Belgian Society of Emergency Medicine BESEDIM, as well as the Belgian representative to the IFEM GA. Within IFEM, he is member of both the trauma and the pediatric special interest groups. He is also fellow to the European Resuscitation council. He is vice-chair of the Belgian Federal Council EMS. He is the current chair-elect for the European Society of Emergency Pediatrics EUSEP, an independent section within the European Society of Emergency Medicine.
